Landscape uses the same sizes rotated, except for the older displays where Apple lists landscape sizes separately. Up to 10 screenshots per size; .jpeg, .jpg or .png; no alpha or transparency. Source: Apple, Screenshot specifications.
Google Play screenshot requirements
- At least 2 screenshots in total, up to 8 per device type; JPEG or 24-bit PNG with no alpha.
- Each side 320–3,840 px, and the long side no more than twice the short side.
- To be eligible for featured formats (apps): at least 4 screenshots at 9:16 portrait, 1080×1920 or larger, or 16:9 landscape, 1920×1080 or larger.
- Tablets and Chromebooks: at least 4 screenshots, 16:9 or 9:16, 1,080–7,680 px.
- Feature graphic: exactly 1024×500, JPEG or 24-bit PNG, no alpha. Required.
- App icon: 512×512, 32-bit PNG (alpha allowed), up to 1,024 KB.
- Recommended: keep taglines under 20% of the image, and avoid words like "Best", "#1", "Top" or "New" and calls to action like "Download now".
Questions
- What size are App Store screenshots in 2026?
- Apple currently requires at least one screenshot for "iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display)": 1179×2556 or 1206×2622 portrait. The large-display sizes are 1260×2736, 1290×2796 and 1320×2868. If your app runs on iPad, add a 13-inch set: 2064×2752 or 2048×2732. You can upload up to 10 per size.
- Why was my screenshot rejected for an alpha channel?
- App Store screenshots can't include alpha channels or transparency, and Google Play wants JPEG or 24-bit PNG with no alpha. Many design tools export 32-bit PNGs even when nothing is transparent. Use the "Download flattened JPEG" button above to fix it at the same pixel size.
- What are the Google Play screenshot requirements?
- At least 2 screenshots, up to 8 per device type, JPEG or 24-bit PNG, each side between 320 and 3,840 px, and the long side no more than twice the short side. To be eligible for Play's featured formats, apps need at least 4 screenshots at 9:16 (≥1080×1920) or 16:9 (≥1920×1080).
- What size is the Google Play feature graphic?
- Exactly 1024×500 px, JPEG or 24-bit PNG with no alpha. It's required to publish a store listing.
- Do I need iPhone Duo screenshots?
- Apple says they'll be required starting April 2027 for apps built with the iOS 27.1 SDK or later: 1398×2034 for the outer display and 2007×2853 for the inner display.
